Junior Buyer - Procurement

Our client, a global leader in offering mining plant processing solutions and process control is seeking for a Junior Buyer to join their well-performing team. It is a small fast-paced, entrepreneurial company where you have the ability to make a change.

To excel in this role, it is important that you have the ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects and are able to communicate with different stakeholders. This individual will be part of an engaging and collaborative team and takes ownership of their responsibilities.

They can offer a hybrid model between working from home and in the office in Toronto (set days).

Responsibilities:

• Assist with procurement best practices & develop procurement standard operating procedures and compliance of the procure to pay process.
• Assist with total cost savings strategies across the projects
• Support project managers for large customer bid projects, including competitive RFQ’s, bidders prequalification’s and list development.
• Vendor and distributor relationship management
• Planning and coordination of all requirements needed to support project scheduling related to sourcing and procurement of equipment and supplies
• Assurance of compliance with Company procurement policies and Client’s requirements in preparing and reviewing PO terms and conditions.
• Manage and organize importing and exporting for projects

Requirements:

• 2-5 years experience in Procurement, Materials/Purchasing or Supply Chain processes especially related to the construction and mining engineering industry
• A degree in Supply Chain Management preferred
• Proficiency in Excel required, and Microsoft Dynamics AX preferred
• CPSM, CPM or equivalent certificates preferred
• Previous experience reviewing contracts and Terms & Conditions
• Strong interpersonal skills, with excellent written and verbal communication in English
• Valid Canadian work permit/ citizenship
