Mark D. Hughes (ISPI)'s Experience

Information Technology and Services industry

January 1997Present (15 years 5 months)

The Institute for the Study of Privacy Issues (ISPI) promotes interdisciplinary research and reporting on personal, financial, and electronic privacy so as to help ordinary people understand the degree of privacy they have with respect to government, industry and each other.

ISPI is a tiny--member funded--organization. Its independent and doesn't accept government funding.

In 1997 I founded ISPI in response to two concerns:

1) The world-wide explosive growth of interconnected data-base technology, and;

2) The widespread use of this technology by government, business and ordinary people to snoop into the private lives and finances of unsuspecting citizens.

For more than 15 years ISPI has been the leading distributor of news and information on Identity, surveillance and privacy issues by way of its daily news service - ISPI Clips.

ISPI Clips is a unique privacy-news service. It’s NOT simply a digest of condensed stories that have been edited and redacted down to a smattering of one paragraph blurbs. ISPI Clips is the real thing. It's like getting a newspaper with as many as 35 COMPLETE privacy-related articles delivered directly to your e-mail doorstep every weekday.

Articles selected for ISPI Clips are timely (often breaking news) and of vital interest to privacy advocates, lawyers, corporate privacy officers, government privacy commissioners/directors and IT managers.

In his exhaustive review of the top privacy-information services, Jay Cline, columnist and president of Minnesota Privacy Consultants, ranks ISPI Clips as "...the most comprehensive daily privacy news-clipping service." http://tinyurl.com/2c9oe6x

ISPI Clips focus is privacy news from the USA, Canada, the UK and Europe. News from Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, India and South Africa is also covered. Coverage of privacy news from Asia, and Latin America continues to grow.

Try ISPI Clips for 3 weeks with absolutely no obligation; send your name, email & request to Mark@PrivacyNews.com
