Xbox Campus Ambassador

CIM

Privately Held; 1001-5000 employees; Marketing and Advertising industry

September 2008April 2009 (8 months)

Initiated the Marketing Campaign at UWO and Fanshawe College by holding events on campus:
 Independently coordinated and launched Xbox 360 Best Selling Games on campus - including NHL 2009 (ran a hockey night on campus involving game trials, a 16-team competition, and an intramural hockey team); and Gears of War 2 (set up a recruitment station with >100 students “recruited” after a series of games.
 Co-planned and executed >10 events on and off campus to spread awareness: wrote up/sent reports to the provincial managers, and delivered speeches to interested students.
 Supervised and trained 2 new campus ambassadors to facilitate and run campus events.

Automation Intern - Assembly Maintenance Engineering

CAMI Automotive

Privately Held; 1001-5000 employees; Automotive industry

April 2007August 2008 (1 year 5 months)

Worked in a team of 20 engineers and 35 skilled trades' workers in a unionized environment, to develop and execute projects (including researching, purchasing, creating electrical drawings and operating methods for equipment, implementing, investigating, and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment):
Led up to 8 team members through >30 multi-disciplinary projects (5 of which are described below):
Installed wireless temperature and vibration sensors automated utilizing PLC with database and HMI integration for analysis and detection of impending bearing failure: prevented 1 major breakdown due to early detection, saving Cami $900,000.

Designed/installed a portable Variable Frequency Drive, to power up Pantograph overhead carriers: panel speeds up recovery by at least 20 min, saving Cami $50,000 on first use.

Worked towards energy conservation with the installation and automation of Power Monitors, Analyzed recorded data from various bus plugs throughout the assembly department and implemented cost saving measures, saving Cami $12,000 per year.

Maintained written documented processes and procedures to reflect improved operating methods in addition to creating/implementing one safety measure per month.

Problem-solved and developed/implemented >50 cost saving countermeasures (such as redesigning lift assists, PLC logic changes, and a skillet fault detector) towards preventative maintenance to significantly reduce production downtime.
