    La société de concert de musique électroacoustique Réseaux est unique en son genre, non seulement au Québec mais également au Canada. Il s’agit de la seule société de diffusion qui s’occupe uniquement de présenter les musiques électroacoustiques de concert, autant celles des compositeurs d’ici que celle des compositeurs étrangers. En cela, elle ne peut être comparée à aucune autre société de concerts dédiée à la musique actuelle ou contemporaine. Certes, certaines d’entre elles programment de temps à autre une œuvre et parfois même un concert où l’électroacoustique fait bonne figure, mais ce n’est pas leur mandat principal. Réseaux est la seule société qui commande régulièrement des œuvres à des compositeurs de musique électroacoustique, qui les crée dans ses concerts et qui les fait tourner dans ses programmations régulières.

    Réseaux occupe un créneau unique au pays qui fait l’envie de beaucoup de nos collègues à l’étranger. Certains pays comme l’Italie ou l’Allemagne par exemple n’ont aucune société de concerts comparable. Et si Montréal peut revendiquer le titre de capitale nord-américaine de l’électroacoustique, Réseaux y est certes pour quelque chose puisque c’est grâce à elle que ces musiques sont diffusées sur la scène professionnelle québécoise.
