I am a Web programmer based in Montreal, Quebec.
I specialize in HTML/CSS integration and PHP/Javascript programming, including database management and analysis. I also have a good background in infography which lets me work in a design environment as well.
I have worked for 2 years and a half for more than 50% of my time on viral marketing for respected brands like Future Shop and Best Buy. I took part in the process of making a newsletter at its best to reach hundreds of thousands of people every week. I learned how to segment databases to personally get the interest of a subscriber. Newsletters are, to me, the start of the Web 2.0 and I think not enough companies see the potential and the importance of maintaining a good relationship with a strong image between the client and them.
The past years have been helpful to fully get in touch with my domain but I have spent my whole life giving a strong place to the Web and I got to experience the creation of what is the Internet today. It kind of grew up with me and I got to see all the changes first as an advanced user.
I have been part of the first members of Livejournal, Friendster, Myspace and now Facebook just to name a few well-known sites. My interest is not only in the technology but in the social results.
With all the new developments made online, it made me focus in the possibilities of Web 2.0. I think the future of the Web is amazing and scary at the same time. It is very important for me to see what’s out there, of course as a programmer, but primarily as a young woman in the age group mostly targeted.
With my work and life experience, I think I have developed a strong opinion on what works and what does not work online. My goal in the future is to create relationships with agencies looking to make their place on the world wide web by embracing new technologies and help them in every of those steps by offering consulting services.
