The Association Liaison Chair oversees the ‘network of networks’ within BC to increase GDC/BC's relationships with other professional groups and associations. In achieving the objective, I act as a liaison between the GDC and the other professional design and mutually relevant associations to promote design and good business practise. In addition, I also work with other association to organize and coordinate events/activities of mutual interest and benefit as well as gathering information about related associations and/or events and inform members as appropriate.
Since 1956, the GDC has been an advocate, voice and resource for Canada's graphic design profession. GDC is a national certified body of graphic designers promoting high standards of visual design and ethical business practices for the benefit of Canadian industry, commerce, public service and education. Through the media, publications, seminars, events, conferences and exhibits, the GDC builds awareness of graphic design and its essential role in business and society.

My role as the Marketing and Communications Coordinator was to collaborate with the Sustainable SFU Director and a team of ten festival coordinators to develop the brand concept and marketing plan as well as execute for the launch of the first annual sustainAB!LITY festival. The festival was attended by 47 vendors and approximately 150 attendees comprised of SFU staff, faculty and students.
As a sponsor, I contributed my communication and graphic design skills to execute the key messages through marketing collaterals for print, web and merchandise. My work resulted in logo design, stationery package, event poster, flyers, bookmarks, business card, screen-printed banner on 100% organic cotton cloth, t-shirt design, floor decals, magnets, pledge buttons, templates for various media (letterhead template, vendor application forms, sponsorship information sheet, and media kit). In addition, I also customized a WordPress.com website, used google apps for communications as well as utilized social media platforms including but not limited to facebook, upcoming.org, feedburner, meetup.com.
In addition to providing my communication design services, I also obtained $5,000+ sponsorship for printing materials and merchandise.
Sustainability Festival is organized by Sustainable SFU, a student, staff and alumni run organization. Sustainable SFU's mandate is to assist Simon Fraser University in its transition into becoming a model sustainable institution. We collaborate with other SFU community members to bring sustainability-related projects, education, and opportunities to the university.

In my role as Marketing Assistant, I assisted in the implementation of the StreetWash campaign, a part of the Province-Wide Communications Program, by coordinating the logistics with 51+ Credit Unions’ upper level management to increase the visibility of Credit Unions. I also updated the content on peoplebeforeprofits.ca on a customized content management system. Additionally, I also provided production support to other Central 1 departments and other credit unions to help market their products and events effectively.
Central 1 Credit Union was formed through a merger of Credit Union Central of British Columbia and Credit Union Central of Ontario. Each had a long history dating back to the 1940s, serving as the central financial facility, payments clearinghouse and trade association for the credit unions in its respective province. The merger brings these functions together in a single organization.

The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), BC Division exists to promote the mental health of British Columbians and support the resilience and recovery of people experiencing mental illness.
