As Program Manager and CTO, I was responsible for managing the delivery of feature and maintenance releases of PlateSpin platform products. In this capacity, I worked closely with Product Management, Implementation, Test Engineering, Product Support and Sustaining Engineering. Working with these teams, I innovated a rapid response lifecycle that successfully managed the volatile customer and market demands, producing 15 product releases in 14 months. I also drove a hiring initiative to increase PlateSpin’s development capacity, resulting in 15 hires over a 3 month period.
As Chief Technology Officer, I focused on identifying and exploiting new technologies, business opportunities and potential partnerships in the market. I worked with Product Management to shape the on-going product roadmap with the objective of making PlateSpin an industry-standard platform for managing and optimizing the new datacenter.
My responsibilities as CTO included:
• Using ‘CTO Forums’ as venues to create and further customer intimacy, augmenting this with market and customer research initiatives.
• Working closely with several large ‘lighthouse’ accounts to understand their requirements for future PlateSpin products.
• Leading the team that identified and acquired new technologies for future PlateSpin products.
• Working closely with the Alliances team to identify strategic opportunities with large system vendors and system integrators.
• Leading the M&A activity of PlateSpin.
