I have developed a vision of what an innovative oil and gas producer needs in order to meet the future demands of the energy business. The eleven module "Draft Specification" of this system can be reviewed at ( http://short-links.people-ideas-objects.com/draft.specification ).
The oil and gas industry is undergoing a difficult transition. One in which the earth science and engineering requirements of each barrel of oil is growing substantially. Energy is the life blood of the global economy, Limiting the volume of oil and gas limits our economic potential.
People, Ideas & Objects "Draft Specification" uses the industry standard Joint Operating Committee as the organizational construct for the innovative producer. By using the Joint Operating Committee's legal, financial, operational decision making, cultural and communication frameworks we can achieve greater speed and innovativeness. By moving the compliance and governance frameworks of the hierarchy; to be in alignment with the Joint Operating Committee's five frameworks we eliminate the bureaucracy, enhance accountability, and increase speed and innovativeness..
I am recruiting users to help define and build these application modules. Most importantly, is what I call the Community of Independent Service Providers, which are a critical part of defining and supporting the application modules. This is user based development.
This Community of Independent Service Providers, using the software they build at People, Ideas & Objects, will be the service organizations that the Producers turn too to ensure they achieve their most profitable operations.
Please join me.

• Conducted independent research into extending the use of the energy industries Joint Operating Committee (JOC) as the key organizational construct of an innovative energy producer.
• Detailed the methods necessary to establish an innovative mindset within an energy producer.
• Specified a reorganization that transfers the accountability, compliance and governance frameworks of the hierarchy and aligns them with the JOC’s legal, financial, cultural, communication and operational decision making frameworks.
• Noted this would facilitate the desired increase in oil and gas organizational performance, capability, innovativeness, and process alignment.
• Published over 600+ entries / articles, more then 700,000 words based on “what” and “how” these changes would affect the speed, performance and innovativeness of the energy sector.
• Established a global community and extended the firm’s presence in Calgary, Aberdeen Scotland and Texas.
• Specified an eleven-module software application that incorporates these findings and changes.
• Proposed a software development project to the energy industry.
Wrote a research report in the areas of innovation, the boundaries of the firm, markets, modularity, transaction cost economics, organizational capabilities, change and others. Research findings were as follows:
• Determined software systems must reflect organizational changes first.
• Identified the JOC is the key organization construct and framework of the energy industry.
• Developed an organizational governance, command and control method that is alternatively maintained through the use and implementation of the “Military Command and Control” metaphor.
• Identified the unique needs of the energy industry requires an un-compromised approach to its performance related problems.
• Commenced community based development of an eleven-module application with a comprehensive collaborative environment and security framework.
