In this position I am a co-author of Asterisk: The Future of Telephony, the first widely distributed book on the Asterisk PBX system. This book is an introduction to the software, and includes a brief history of the software, obtaining, compiling, and configuring the software for the SIP and IAX2 protocols, & Zaptel hardware. It then delves into how analog and digital communications differ, a look into the authors predictions to where the software and industry as a whole is headed, as well as an extensive reference manual.
A second edition is due for release in August of 2007. I am also participating in the creation of the Asterisk Cookbook, a public effort being written at http://www.asteriskcookbook.com.
Information about Asterisk: The Future of Telephony is available at http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/asterisk/

I originally started working with Core Telecom Innovations by getting my start in the telecommunications field by performing work for a major bank in downtown Toronto by modifying the physical layer of the phone system.
From there as I've expanding into my own consulting business, Core Telecom Innovations and LeifMadsen Enterprises have had a strong business relationship which has benefited both companies. Ideas freely flow between the companies and I consider the people who work at Core Telecom Innovations personal friends.
