Jean-François De Rico specializes in commercial litigation, as well as bankruptcy and insolvency law. He has been involved in commercial disputes pertaining to IT sourcing, real estate, secured creditors rights and professional liability, and participates in reorganizations and restructurings made in virtue of the Companies Creditor Arrangement Act, both for debtor companies and financial institutions.
He also assists businesses on the impacts and legal obligations pertaining to the use of IT in business operations in regards to issues like compliance, records retention and management, litigation preparedness, personal information protection, and e-discovery.
He is a member of The Sedona Conference working group 7, of the Law Practice Management and Technology Section committee of the Canadian Bar and a frequent speaker on law and technology issues and the advantages of IT use in the practice of law. He recently presented at the ABA Techshow, at Leg@lIT and at the Quebec Bar annual convention.
