CEO at netmobs
Toronto, Canada Area
I recently handed over the reins as CEO of b5media Inc. (www.b5media.com). When I left, it was the #10 online media company in Canada, the #2 blog network in the world, and the #5 blog publishing company in the world with 30MM pageviews per month and more than 12MM uniques.
I am currently evaluating opportunities and deciding on my next step.
Previously I've started half a dozen companies, including InsideBlogging (the first blog consulting company in the world), Barefooting.com (one of the first service-oriented hosting companies in the world) and studio:coco (a web design and development companies with clients such as Microsoft, Intel, IBM, Nortel, Novell and dozens of other Fortune 500s).
I am also the author of one of the first business books on blogging, Blog Marketing (www.ensight.org/book), published by McGraw-Hill.
In addition to these activities I speak at conferences on journalism, PR, marketing, blogging, business and adververtising. Oh and I play drums, love being with my family and have a tendency to be just a little bit random.
Blogs, advertising, marketing, business development, internet technologies, communications, marketing and PR.

netmobs is the quasi-agency under which I am organizing my consulting activities. It might take off, it might not, but after nearly 5 years as CEO of b5media, I kinda dig not having to have a grand plan right away.

Over more than 4 years at the the helm of b5media, I was lucky enough to raise up an amazing team, to turn a haphazard concept into a real business, to work with some of the best VCs in the business to raise nearly $10MM and to grow the company to a global media company and one of the biggest media companies in Canada.
