Sydney Hedderich’s Summary
Sydney Hedderich is a freelance writer and certified photographer who delivers unique points of view in business, politics, health and lifestyle. Her work has been published in magazines, newspapers, websites, newsletters and trade reports.
She is a pending member of the Professional Writers Association of Canada (PWAC), and a member of the Professional Photographers Association of America (PPA).
Sydney's background in business and the arts, interest in the sciences, and skills in investigation make her a quick study in areas that need to be well understood before they are clearly communicated. As an entrepreneur, she has written copy, press releases and direct-mail forms for various products she has marketed and sold to target markets in Canada. She has also delivered persuasive messages on television and before live audiences. Prior, as an analyst in financial services, she wrote loan proposals for international companies and edited a trade quarterly for bank auditors.
A dual citizen of Canada and Venezuela, Sydney was born in Toronto and grew up in Caracas. She has lived in several cities in the United States and Canada before moving to London, Ontario in 2008. Well travelled in the Americas and in Europe, she dominates the English and Spanish languages. She also navigates the waters reasonably in French and choppily in German.

The University of Western Ontario
Sydney currently pursues the Certificate in Creative Writing through Continuing Studies at The University of Western Ontario. She completed courses in Magazine Publishing, Creative Writing, and Copy Writing through the School of Continuing Education at Ryerson University. Through Ryerson, she also gained the Certificate in Photographic Studies. It added to her completed courses in photojournalism at Sheridan College, portraiture at Humber College and digital communications at Centennial College.
Sydney received her Graduate Management Diploma from the Centre for Continuing Education at McGill University (1984). Earlier, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Mount Holyoke College (1974), following a redirection from pre-medicine at Northwestern University.
