Knowing how to find the right balance between flexibility, query performance and space utilization in extremely large database design is especially challenging in fast paced companies with highly volatile source systems and rapidly evolving business strategies.
Over the last 20 years I have designed over a dozen enterprise data warehouses for corporations large and small around the world. Some of these projects have involved over 100 analysts and developers building databases over 100 terabytes in size.
I specialize in designing extremely large databases that can be deployed incrementally and in a flexible and extensible manner. More generally, I deliver Information Management and Business Intelligence strategies for Financial Services, Distribution and Telecommunications companies worldwide.
I have hands-on experience developing, consolidating and reengineering enterprise data warehouses and Business Intelligence environments for companies adopting the IBM Information Framework, Banking, Financial Markets, Retail and Telecommunications Data Warehouse data models.
I am an experienced line supervisor with P&L responsibility in matrix organizations, including team-building, staff development, coaching and mentoring. I am adept at facilitating cross-functional and cross-line of business communication and collaboration at the C-Level.
I have influenced over $50M in hardware, software and professional services revenue for leading Information Management vendors worldwide.
Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, Masterdata Management, Information Governance, Customer Relationship Management, Telecommunications, Financial Services, Health Care, Retail and Distribution. I am presently engaged as the Lead Solution Architect on the Scotiabank Enterprise Data Warehouse. My primary role is to translate operational and analytical business requirements into actual design specifications and data models that can be supported and fulfilled by available data and technology components. The goal is to manage solution architecture across multiple projects and over project life cycles within a common flexible architecture that allows for incremental development and volatility in the operational environment as well as evolution in business strategy.
