Sean Rasmussen’s Summary

Very experienced and capable Internet Application developer, currently strongest in Java, iPhone Apps, followed by Erlang, but have had professional exposure with several others including Ruby / Rails, Perl, PHP, and C#.

I've worked almost exclusively as a contractor since 1998, in Canada as well as overseas; I believe that my diversity of experiences has increased my capability to produce well-designed, maintainable systems; having worked as a Project Manager on several occasions has certainly enhanced my ability to see software from a business perspective.

My occasional work on my private projects may have taught me as much as my paid work, perhaps more so.

After having spent the summer advancing one such private project - The Mock Exchange - mentioned below, I am eager to start a Java or iPhone contract soon; my preference is for 6 months however, in all aspects I am open to negotiation; my main goal is to practice more craft in a productive, good humoured environment.

From where I stand, the market for Java contracts is weaker than I can remember; as such, I've turned toward iPhone / IPod Touch app development; although its only been a matter of weeks, I just had my first app accepted, and have several more in the pipe.
