I love to initiate absolute beginners into the crafts of knitting and crocheting. I get my students started on easy projects and I adapt, as much as possible, my teaching to each student's skill level and interests. This means that, whether a class consists of four or twenty participants, students work on different projects, in different styles, and at different levels.
When I'm not teaching (or preparing for it), I'm designing and making textile accessories that are sold in a boutique and two galleries in Montreal, Canada. I also participate in craft shows. I love to make simple knitwear and jewelry that make the wearer feel special and elegant.
My textile jewelry and accessories are suitable for women of any age. My eighty-five-year-old mother wears my knitted necklaces with as much gusto as my nineteen-year-old daughter. These pieces are especially appealing to new mothers - there is no danger when the baby grabs a textile necklace and the Möbius-style shoulder shrugs can be used to hide the baby from sight when breastfeeding in public.
A recent adventure in textile techniques is Art Felt, and a series of bracelets is available in a galerie de bijoux d'art in Montreal. My newest work entails crocheted rocks that are strung together into bold pieces.
