Chris Cummins' Summary
One of my favorite quotes is by Henry Ford. This quote touches all of us because it is simple and yet true. I'm paraphrasing a bit...but you'll get the idea:
"Whether you believe you can OR that you cannot, either way you're right."
Some corporations seem to get everything right, and yet feel their staff are not energized. Many feel they were not able to successfully transfer their enthusiasm to the teams they have in place to help accomplish team goals.
As a career sales expert, I manage a growing practice providing professional public speaking solutions to corporations and groups who need assistance in meeting AND exceeding the increasingly challenging goals they set for themselves and their teams.
Most firms bring me on-site to be the initial presenter at their event, and to interact throughout the duration of the event. These may be groups between 5 and 500 staff.
I generally book 4-6 weeks in advance. I use this lead time to really identify what my customer wants to accomplish. I know how much companies invest in large scale events, and how the right keynote experience is the best investment in the audience' positive testimonial. What do you want YOUR team to experience?
Here is a great example after the Toronto CFA society asked me to open their annual Leadership and Professional Development Day:
"Thank you for arranging an outstanding Leadership and Professional Skills Development day!
At the end of the day, I bumped into Chris, the first speaker of the day. I walked up to him to thank him for being the best part of the day. He got the energy up, and the seminar participants were all smiling, with a shared experience.
"Definitely with such a positive start, I was prepared to engage with the rest of the speakers. Also the networking aspect of the day was more relaxed since we had a common human bonding experience to start us off."

Keynote Speaker, Management Specialist, Corporate Trainer
Chris Cummins
Privately Held; Myself Only; Professional Training & Coaching industry
2001 – Present (11 years)
My most successful clients often hire me to kick off conferences and company meetings. After a thorough "needs analysis" I craft exactly what your audience needs to hear in order to set you and the rest of your conference presenters up for success.
Someone recently said to me "Chris, in a 90 minute keynote you delivered 1/3 business mechanics content, 1/3 comedy and 1/3 inspirational stories intricately woven together."
A recent GlobeAndMail Article entitled "PLANNING A GREAT CONFERENCE" http://tinyurl.com/6ltpll5 said it best. Here is an excerpt...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Tip #5 Don't Find Speakers, Find Storytellers - Consider whether potential speakers plan to lecture on subject matter of your conference’s theme, or tell a story around it. Stories evoke emotion and when you engage emotions, even just a little bit, you stand a better chance of having people paying attention. Storytelling allows an audience to experience content in an engaging and imaginative way that will likely be better remembered.
Just because someone is a celebrity or a well-known author does not necessarily mean they are a good speaker or that they have a good story to tell.

The professional areas where I have the highest core competency (speaking & inspiring to take action) come with constant feedback. Sometimes that feedback is in the form of laughter and tears from audiences of 2500 or more attendees.
I take your messaging and wrap it in equal parts humour, education and inspiration.
