Chris Charabaruk is a computer programmer with many years of development experience with games and open source projects. Chris grew up writing code on a Commodore 64, and later on branched into C++ and C# development.
Currently, Chris is involved in the development of a Web2.0 task management service called Taskerrific. When he's not working on that, he's usually figuring out ways to help other small businesses benefit from the new modes of communication opened up by the internet.
In 2005, Chris co-founded the Toronto Independent Games Conference, with the aims to promote Toronto as a place of interest in the games industry and to provide networking and educational opportunities for other developers. Between then and June 2009, Chris has also been one of the coordinators of the "Indie" SIG of the International Game Developers Association.
Chris is a strong public speaker, thanks to his participation in Toastmasters International. He has served as President, VP Education, and Sergeant at Arms of Toronto's own Toronto Go-Getters club (formerly Toast IT Toastmasters), and as of June 2009 is a member of Ajax-Pickering Toastmasters. Chris currently has his Competent Communicator award and is working on achieving his Competent Leader and Advanced Communicator Bronze awards by the end of 2009.
