Boon-Hau Teh’s Summary
I come from a computer engineering background and specialize in software engineering. I have had exposure to various programming languages but I am particularly proficient in PHP, Python, C and C++. I am also knowledgeable in other areas of computers, including graphics, hardware and networks. I am also pursuing my interests and expanding my knowledge in various applications such as Adobe Photoshop, Sony Vegas, Flash, AutoCAD, Form-Z, and Pro/ENGINEER.
My first work experience in programming ended up spanning over four years at a facility within my alma mater, dealing with creating "accessible" software and content. Throughout the years I also contributed to three small companies as my summer projects: Cyber Courier, CTU Soft, and To Be Seen Promotions.
During my undergraduate studies, I took part in a six-month internship in Japan with Sanyo Electric. I worked in the television network division where my projects primarily focused on prototyping a server/client system for handling metadata in the upcoming digital television switchover for Japan.
Since graduating, I have been working for Maxxian, where we develop auditing and analysis tools for the engineering head end of TV cable companies.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On the side, I pursue interests in visual arts, music, and physical activities. I am the former vice president of the E-Studio Art Club at my alma mater. I am also familiar with thirteen various musical instruments and have also been a member of the university orchestra. My physical activities include rock climbing, swimming, gymnastics, and martial arts training alongside stunt performers from the Jackie Chan stunt team. I also continue to be an active member and webmaster for the university's breakdance club.
My first language is English, but I also have a fair understanding of basic Japanese and French, and I am currently upgrading my proficiency in Mandarin.
